A Dragon Named Coal (2014-present)
PIXEL ARTIST-- A Dragon Named Coal is a dark fairytale with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night-style gameplay and branching story mechanics of Dragon Age: Origins. The game is primarily being created by the husband-and-wife game studio, Clever Crow Games, and is currently in development for Mac, Windows, Linux, and console platforms. LEAD ARTIST-- A minimalistic game made for Ludum Dare 30. Ludum Dare is a game jam that challenges participants to complete a game from scratch in 72 hours. Participants incorporate a theme voted on prior to the game jam. This round's theme was "connected worlds". Our team consisted of four people, all of which had never participated in a game jam before. The game itself took around 48 hours to complete. I developed the aesthetics for the game as well as the assets and animation. To play, click here.
The widower (2013-2014)
LEAD ARTIST-- The Widower is an investigative, survival horror game that draws inspiration from titles like Silent Hill, True Detective, and Twin Peaks. Solve a murder, fight your demons, and expose a man's deepest secret. The game is currently in development using RPG Maker VX Ace. LET's Fight Monsters! (2013)
LEAD ARTIST-- Let's Fight Monsters! was a 2D side-scrolling, HTML5-based dungeon-crawling game that focused on group exploration, combat, and looting items. The game is unfortunately no longer in development, but the work I did for this title included developing the overall game aesthetics as well as creating tilesets, sprites, mobs, and animations. All assets were created using Illustrator.
LEGENDARY HUNTEr (2013)
GAME CREATOR-- A goofy hunting game I completed independently. All art assets, UI, animations, coding and music were made solely by me. The game was created using Game Maker, and all art assets were put together primarily in Adobe Illustrator. Due to compatibility issues, a download link for this game is no longer available.
NIGHT EYEs (2012)
GAME CREATOR-- A short, atmospheric point-and-click adventure game I worked on independently about cats and the supernatural. The game was created using the AGS engine. All art assets, UI, animations, coding and music were created by me. To play, download the game here. ---> night_eyes.zip
Stanford's "Another Look" events (2012-present)
GRAPHIC DESIGNER-- "Another Look" is a seasonal book club that draws together writers and scholars from Stanford's top-ranked English department and beyond. Lover Letter: HAVEN EDITIOn (2015)
ARTIST, DESIGNER-- A homemade reskin of AEG's "Love Letter" card game. This was an ambitious family present I made for Christmas 2015. Each family member has a card dedicated to them specifically. Besides bringing in a more cartoony, Elizabethan influence, I also redesigned the card layout so each card's information and rarity was more unique and readable. This took a little over a month to put together and print.
COMICS CREATOR-- A 6-issue, horror/comedy comic still in the development stages (late concepting, early paneling) with plans of publishing online sometime in 2017. HELLHOLE is about a timid, high school freshman with bad flatulence and no friends who discovers her butthole is a portal to a hell world. After unwittingly triggering an apocalypse and forever changing Earth, she embarks on a quest to find her parents while learning to survive in this new, bizarre, and unforgiving world.
